FlatRate is based out the Bronx, NY so it’ll be hard to get an physical survey unless they arrange it through an affiliated agent.

Most of the major van lines are well represented with full service agents in Panama City because of the large military presence in western Florida. The channel between the panhandle and MD, VA and DC becomes quite active in the spring.

They’ve been discussed, and to my knowledge, we’ve not had any complaints about them, and their business is growing.

Get an in-home estimate from them, and from two other full-service movers. Flat Rate’s will be what’s considered a Binding Estimate, so see if you can get the other movers to go Binding as well, or even better, a Binding (or Guaranteed) Not To Exceed.

The contention appears to be that the estimate was written about as being free, and the fee for making it binding wasn’t discussed until it was billed for.
