Tammy takes the number so they can charge the card the morning of your move. You pay in full at the time of services, like a store. This is how BE operates, and from what pros say, I believe all reputable movers who accept credit cards charge the card at the time (or before) services are rendered to ensure the customer can pay. They will not actually charge the card until that day. I understand your suspicions, but this is valid.

Maybe Tammy is away on vacation and that’s why you’re being directed to Linda.
